Bond4Waste Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation (“Bond4Waste,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides the B4W Driver app (the “App”), a mobile application for iOS and Android used by drivers and field personnel of waste hauling companies that subscribe to the Bond4Waste platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices available to you.
This Privacy Policy applies only to the App. Our website at bond4waste.com is governed by a separate Privacy Policy available at bond4waste.com/privacy, and the Bond4Waste web platform is governed by the privacy terms in the applicable Software-as-a-Service Agreement.
By installing or using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App and contact your employer regarding alternative procedures.
You use the App in connection with your work for a waste hauling company or similar organization that subscribes to Bond4Waste (your “Employer”). In most cases, Bond4Waste processes your information on behalf of, and at the direction of, your Employer. Your Employer determines which drivers have accounts, which routes and tasks you are assigned, and how the operational data you generate is used within its business.
This means that information collected through the App — including your location while on shift, the photos you capture, your inspection reports, your expenses, and your clock-in and clock-out times — is visible to and controlled by your Employer through the Bond4Waste administrative platform. Questions about how your Employer uses this information, including for performance management or payroll purposes, should be directed to your Employer. Requests to access, correct, or delete your information will generally be coordinated with your Employer, as described in Section 10.
When your Employer creates your account, and when you sign in, we collect your name, email address, phone number, job role, and the organization you belong to. Authentication is provided by our identity provider, Clerk. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore).
The App collects your device's precise GPS location, including in the background while the App is closed or not in use, but only while you are clocked in to an active shift. Location collection begins when you clock in and stops when you clock out or end your shift.
We collect location data for the following purposes:
If your device is offline, location data is temporarily stored on your device and transmitted to our servers when connectivity is restored. You can stop location collection at any time by clocking out, or by disabling location permissions in your device settings; however, the App requires location access to perform its core functions, and disabling it may prevent you from completing your work duties. Location data is never collected while you are clocked out.
With your permission, the App uses your device's camera to capture:
The App also captures electronic signatures (yours or a customer's) to confirm completion of work orders. Photos and signatures are stored securely in cloud storage (Amazon Web Services S3) and associated with the related work record.
As you use the App to perform your job, we collect operational records that you create, including:
If you submit work expenses through the App (for example, fuel, tolls, repairs, or supplies), we collect the expense amount, category, description, related route or work order, and any receipt photo you attach. Expense records may be synchronized to your Employer's accounting system (QuickBooks Online) at your Employer's direction.
The App is designed to work offline. Your assigned routes, schedule, and pending actions (including buffered GPS points, photos, signatures, and other records awaiting upload) are stored in a local database on your device and synchronized to our servers when a connection is available. Authentication credentials are stored only in your device's secure storage.
We use the information collected through the App to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
When you photograph a scale ticket, the image is transmitted to an artificial intelligence service provider (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) to automatically extract structured information such as weight, material type, facility, and fees. These providers act as service providers to Bond4Waste and process the images solely to provide this functionality on our behalf. Extracted results are attached to the related work record and remain subject to this Privacy Policy.
The primary recipient of information collected through the App is your Employer. Your Employer's authorized administrators, dispatchers, and billing personnel can view your location during shifts, your route and job activity, your inspection reports, your expenses, your shift records, and related operational data through the Bond4Waste platform.
We use third-party service providers to operate the App. These providers may process your information only as necessary to perform services for us. Our current providers include:
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a law enforcement request.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar event, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will post an updated Privacy Policy reflecting any such change.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes or for cross-context behavioral advertising.
The App requests the following device permissions. You can change these at any time in your device settings, but some features will not function without them:
Operational records created through the App (including shift records, inspections, dump tickets, and location history) are retained on behalf of your Employer for as long as your Employer maintains its Bond4Waste subscription and the records, and as needed to comply with applicable law. Certain records, such as vehicle inspection reports and hours-of-service data, may be subject to minimum retention periods under federal and state transportation regulations. Data stored locally on your device is removed when it has been synchronized and is no longer needed, or when you sign out or uninstall the App. Retention questions about your employment records should be directed to your Employer.
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including:
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify your Employer and contact us at contact@bond4.ai.
Location and permission controls. You can stop location collection by clocking out, and you can revoke any device permission in your operating system settings.
Access, correction, and deletion. Because Bond4Waste generally processes your information on behalf of your Employer, requests to access, correct, or delete your information should first be directed to your Employer. You may also contact us at contact@bond4.ai, and we will respond within thirty (30) days, coordinating with your Employer where required. Please note that some records (for example, safety and compliance records) may be retained where required by law or by your Employer's legitimate business needs.
Notifications. You can manage push notifications in your device settings. Disabling notifications may cause you to miss dispatch messages.
State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. Some state privacy laws contain exemptions for information processed in an employment context; where such exemptions apply, your rights with respect to employment records may be governed by other laws and your Employer's policies. To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@bond4.ai.
The App is a workplace tool intended solely for adults employed or engaged by Bond4Waste subscribers. It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under the age of 18.
The App is operated from the United States and is intended for use by drivers working for U.S.-based companies. If you use the App from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and provide notice through the App or through your Employer. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
